I was helping my son with division the other day and ended up confusing him more. He was taught differently than I had been in my German school, plus I still like to use the German math symbol for division which is  : (the German math symbol for multiplication is simply a dot in between the numbers, so you would write 6 · 6 = 36 for instance.)  For more on German math see and listen to our audio math and number glossary…
