Education ( Unterricht )
One of the first things any child learns in the early years of vocabulary are words” Mama” and “Papa” or mommy and Daddy.
From there on, the words continue and we teach a child the meanings of objects, the words of a bird in flight or the water rushing between the rocks and dangers it can pocces to a young person exploring their surroundings of this new world they are brought into.
This young person continues developing their social abilities and knowledge and interact with other people.
Though the question comes when school is being called upon.
In America homeschooling is legal, also because sometimes families live such long distances from towns and schools it is nearly unmöglich (impossible) to drive a child each day to school never mind school busses only have certain routes .
Home schooling can be beneficial, depending on the circumstances but also the family itself.
Yet it is time consuming for a parent, the social life of a child is not that of a child that attends school, and parent and child spend time together 24-7.
Also, the parent most often must consider the facts- a child has less influence from the outside world and therefore let us assume is brought up in a very religious household is it less likely to have an open mind about the society and interaction later in life..?
Though with the Schulsystem (school systems ) around the world, and finances running short for the most part on education, some parents are opting to teach their children at home- Also because what is being taught in school is often but not always, the minimal knowledge of that what you can really learn.
In the US alone hundreds of schools are closing because of budget shortages, forcing halfway parents to teach their children at home.
Though are parents ready and willing to teach? Do parents receive finanzielle Hilfen (funds ) and free Unterricht (educational) material if that is the case? And will a parent teach with an open mind that a child can reach the same level of openness and freedom of choice whether religion or political view?
A family of Germany more well know as the Romeikes whom intended on teaching their children at home, were verboten (prohibited )from doing so, now have sought asylum in the US and received political asylum.
Their case is interesting, because in Germany since the 1717 it is prohibited to teach children at home and it is mandatory for every child to attend school. Yet they felt they wanted to teach their children in their beliefs and that the German school system did not give the Unterricht (education) their children needed. However because it is illegal in Germany to teach children at home, the law ordered them to bring their children to school. It went so far, that police forces accompanied the crying Romeikes to school.
Die Frage ( the question) is this, with personal experience in homeschooling, to a certain degree it could be a delightful experience for any child, yet should such action only be taken if there are special causes? For instance, language barriers, or certain medical needs? Or should a parent have that authority to decide because they believe a school system does not deliver the Glaube (religious) needs of a Haushalt (household)? Or because they feel their country does not do a sufficient job in education and therefore seeking to reside elsewhere? In other parts of Europe, countries do allow homeschooling, Austria which is also a German speaking country makes it legal again- As well as Russia and Scandinavia, so why really move an entire family to the US?
